Job summary

Hyatt Grand San Francisco is seeking a Chief Engineer to supervise daily maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, systems and equipment to ensure safety and guest comfort. You will provide hands-on technical leadership across preventive maintenance and life-safety readiness, coordinating with departments to maintain Hyatt standards.

The role requires strong leadership in a union environment, extensive maintenance experience, and the ability to manage on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hotel, commercial building, or facilities maintenance experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead work in a union environment and follow collective bargaining requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced property.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support daily maintenance and repair of hotel facilities to ensure uptime and guest comfort.
• Lead facilities operations and energy performance improvements while ensuring safety.
• Maintain compliance with codes, safety regs and collective bargaining agreements.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure room readiness, defect resolution and uptime.
