Job summary

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa in Hawaii seeks a Senior Finance Manager to join its finance leadership team. You will oversee the Accounting Department, partner on forecasting and budgeting, and ensure financial controls and accurate reporting across resort operations.

The role supports month-end close, internal controls, and capital planning, collaborating with leadership to improve profitability and efficiency. Requires strong hospitality accounting experience and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a large hotel or resort.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and hospitality accounting practices.
• Experience implementing financial procedures and improving processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with hotel financial systems (Oracle, OPERA Cloud, MICROS/Simphony, Evention, Dimensions).
• Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Accounting Department, including G/L, AP, AR, Income Audit, and General Cashier functions.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning through analysis and reporting.
• Support month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement accuracy.
• Partner with department leaders to analyze financial performance, manage expenses, and identify profitability opportunities.
• Lead labor productivity initiatives through the Olympia Productivity Program and staffing analyses.
• Implement and maintain SOPs, internal controls, and Hyatt accounting standards.
• Ensure compliance with Hyatt policies, USALI, GAAP, and audits.
• Oversee financial systems and seek process improvements.
• Provide leadership and development to Finance staff.
• Support ownership with month-end reporting and capital expenditures planning.
