Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Facilities Mechanic to maintain hospital buildings, equipment and utility systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to repair needs, document work, and communicate with staff to keep the facility safe and operational.

The role requires 5–7 years in mechanical or electrical trades, healthcare setting preferred, and knowledge of CMMS and BAS. This on-site position offers a 40-hour week and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5–7 years in mechanical or electrical trades, healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of CMMS and BAS required.

Responsibilities

• Provides timely response to facility needs to maintain safety and avoid service interruptions.
• Performs preventive maintenance and manages on-demand work orders.
• Monitors building areas for maintenance issues and reports findings.
• Troubleshoots and maintains building utility systems including plumbing, electrical, and life-safety.
• Completes detailed task documentation with time spent on tasks.
• Communicates effectively with customers, peers, and leadership.
