Job summary

Vanguard Resources, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager for Valley Baptist Medical Center - Brownsville.

This hands-on leadership role oversees day-to-day maintenance and plant operations in a major hospital setting, guiding a skilled team to ensure reliable systems and safe operations. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems, with experience in facilities management and team coaching.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge in facilities maintenance.
• Experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations, or building systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and work orders.
• Some supervisory or team-lead experience.
• Ability to coach, organize, and support a skilled maintenance team.
• Healthcare or hospital experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the daily work of the facilities maintenance team
• Help prioritize preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities
• Troubleshoot building and equipment issues and drive practical solutions
• Support the reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, emergency power, and related building systems
• Monitor work orders, preventive maintenance completion, and equipment performance
• Coordinate day-to-day work with vendors, contractors, and service providers
• Help assign work, develop & coach employees, and hold the team accountable for safety, quality, and follow-through
• Partner with the Director of Facilities & Plant Operations on staffing, projects, priorities, and operational needs
• Identify recurring equipment issues and opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency
• Maintain a strong safety mindset and support hospital operations in a professional and responsive manner
