Job summary

Vanguard Resources, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead the day‑to‑day maintenance and plant operations at Olathe Medical Center, part of The University of Kansas Health System.

You’ll manage a hands‑on team, prioritize preventive and corrective work, and ensure reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and emergency power systems. The role emphasizes leadership within a healthcare facilities environment, collaboration with vendors, and a strong safety

Qualifications

• Solid experience in facilities maintenance and plant operations.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems.
• Some supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Healthcare or hospital experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the daily work of the facilities maintenance team
• Help prioritize preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities
• Troubleshoot building and equipment issues and drive practical solutions
• Support the reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, emergency power, and related building systems
• Monitor work orders, preventive maintenance completion, and equipment performance
• Coordinate day-to-day work with vendors, contractors, and service providers
• Help assign work, develop & coach employees, and ensure safety, quality, and follow‑through
• Partner with the Director of Facilities & Plant Operations on staffing, projects, priorities, and operational needs
• Identify recurring equipment issues and opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency
• Maintain a strong safety mindset and support hospital operations professionally
