Job summary

Community Memorial Healthcare Inc. is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of plant operations and the engineering department, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant environment for patients and staff.

The role includes direct supervision of engineering staff, managing workflows, and supporting performance improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive hospital maintenance experience, strong knowledge of relevant regulations, and the ability to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Fifteen (15) years of general maintenance experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC and/or mechanical equipment.
• Ten (10) years of hospital maintenance experience.
• Current California Driver's License.
• Current knowledge of local, state and federal regulations.
• Ability to read plans and blueprints.
• Familiar with EMS, FAS, CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering staff in operation and maintenance of facility systems (generators, boilers, chillers, HVAC, medical gas, vacuum).
• Establish, implement, and monitor standards, procedures, and work assignments for efficient operations and compliance.
• Assign and review daily tasks and work orders; coordinate priorities for clinical and operational needs.
• Conduct inspections to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to procedures.
• Serve as secondary contact for nursing staff regarding maintenance affecting patient care environments.
• Monitor, document, and report maintenance issues or losses to management promptly.
• Lead and participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
• Assist the Engineering Manager with hospital and clinic site operations, scheduling and shift coverage.
• Assist in fire and life safety compliance for all facilities.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for emergencies.
• Direct and oversee construction, remodels, rebuilds, and emergency response efforts (e.g., flooding).
• Manage and coordinate work with onsite contractors to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
• Respond to emergencies at hospitals and clinics and allocate resources timely.
