Job summary

South Suburban Park & Recreation District is seeking a Lead Maintenance Specialist for Hudson Gardens Horticulture in Littleton. The role focuses on scheduling, coordinating, and evaluating planting and landscape maintenance projects, including flowers, shrubs, and interior plants.

Responsibilities include training staff, supervising maintenance tasks, coordinating watering, applying pesticides per IPM, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of skilled labor in horticulture or landscape maintenance with emphasis on annual/perennial plants.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Horticulture or Landscape Management preferred.
• Any combination of experience, training and education demonstrating required knowledge may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain horticultural displays, beds, and turf; assist in designing and renovating beds.
• Train personnel in horticulture and snow removal techniques.
• Schedule and coordinate watering regimes for trees, shrubs and flowers; assist with irrigation.
• Perform pesticide applications as part of integrated pest management.
• Oversee volunteer gardening programs and assist in other landscape tasks as needed.
• Maintain records: activity reports, pesticide reports, inventory, and planting dates.
