Job summary

The City of Omaha is seeking a skilled Maintenance worker to perform carpentry, plumbing, and general building upkeep in municipal facilities. This full-time position requires hands-on labor, adherence to safety, and the ability to read plans and maps.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in the operation of tools and equipment of the type assigned to this class.

Responsibilities

• Perform rough-in and finish carpentry tasks (drywall, walls, ceilings, ramps).
• Repair rotted subfloors and joists.
• Install/repair doors, stairs, windows, locks and trims.
• Perform minor plumbing tasks and water line work.
• Inspect work and prepare material/labor cost estimates.
• Maintain regular attendance and safety compliance.
