Job summary

City of Omaha is seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems at City facilities. Work is planned independently with general assignment terms and a focus on quality workmanship.

The ideal candidate will have a Nebraska license or City of Omaha license, two years of Journeyman experience, and the ability to read blueprints and interpret plumbing diagrams. The position includes a competitive hourly pay and strong benefits.

Qualifications

High school graduation or its equivalent preferred.
Two years of experience as a Journey Level Plumber.

Responsibilities

Installs, repairs, or replaces plumbing fixtures, faucets, valves, water meters, water heaters, and drinking fountains, according to the City Plumbing Code.
Unplugs, repairs, or replaces water lines and sewer lines.
Turns on water and sprinkler systems in spring and off in the fall at parks, pools, golf courses, and at other seasonal facilities.
Repairs or replaces sprinkler heads and broken water lines.
Performs other related duties as assigned, or as the situation dictates, within the scope of this class specification
