American Red Cross seeks a skilled professional to perform high‑complexity donor and patient testing, focusing on HLA procedures and crossmatching. You will provide complex reference support to hospitals and transfusion services, interpret results, and maintain meticulous records in a busy laboratory.

Responsibilities include quality control, on‑call duties, and collaboration with clinical teams to resolve compatibility issues, while mentoring staff and contributing to procedure development.

Qualifications

• Perform serologic, molecular, and immunologic procedures including DNA extraction, PCR, sequence typing, STR analysis, probe hybridization, cytotoxic crossmatching, and antibody screening/identification by Luminex/ELISA.
• Recognize testing irregularities, determine causes, resolve issues or refer as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and perform quality control and competency assessments.
• Advise and train staff; communicate results to hospitals and transfusion services.
• Assist in developing new procedures and evaluating new laboratory techniques.
