Job summary

Rocket Lab, based in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a Senior HITL Technician I to design, maintain, and operate hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) systems supporting Space Systems. The role reports to the HITL Manager and supports leadership through delivering critical test infrastructure.

The successful candidate will fabricate harnesses, build HITL racks, work hands-on with flight hardware, and collaborate across engineering teams to ensure robust HITL test and simulation capabilities for spacecraft

Qualifications

• 8+ years in harness fabrication, rack assembly, test systems or similar technical environment.
• Experience reading and feedback on diagrams, schematics and ICDs.
• Ability to follow quality workmanship instructions and perform electrical checks.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and test high-quality harnessing.
• Assemble and modify HITL test racks and install equipment.
• Work hands-on with flight hardware and HITL systems.
• Collaborate across engineering and technician teams to build and improve HITL test and simulation systems.
• Contribute to rack layout and buildability feedback.
• Iterate prototype rack designs with engineering and spacecraft teams.
• Maintain and redline system diagrams, schematics, and procedures.
• Identify risks in rack and harnessing buildability during design and integration.
