Rocket Lab seeks a Senior HITL Technician I to design, maintain, and operate HITL systems at our Long Beach, CA headquarters. You will support leadership with deliverables across Space Systems, HITL, and engineering teams, contributing to high-reliability harnesses and test racks for spacecraft systems.

The role requires hands-on wiring, rack assembly, and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams to reduce build risks and improve testability. U.S. citizenship is required for program access.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in harness fabrication, rack assembly, test systems, or similar technical environment.
• Experience with harness manufacturing, rack assembly, harness integration.
• Ability to follow quality instructions and read diagrams, CAD drawings, ICDs, and procedures.
• Experience with electrical checks (continuity, pinout, visual inspection).
• Knowledge of ESD practices and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and test high-quality harnesses.
• Build and modify HITL test racks and perform basic checkout.
• Work hands-on with test and flight hardware.
• Collaborate to build and improve HITL test and simulation systems.
• Document rack layouts and buildability feedback.
• Iterate rack designs with engineering and spacecraft teams.
• Maintain and redline system diagrams, schematics, and procedures.
• Identify and communicate buildability and integration risks.
