Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examinations and perform histo- and immunocytochemical testing as directed by pathology staff.
• Embed, section, stain and process specimens; support pathologist in required procedures and STAT requests.
• Maintain instrument maintenance records and quality control data; document tracking accordingly.
• Train and provide guidance to Histotechnologists and Histotechnicians on standard operating procedures.
• Grossly assess tissue adequacy in the operating room and communicate with Attending/Fellow as needed.
