Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking a Histology Tech Sr. for Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills, CA. This per diem, day-shift position supports tissue processing and pathology workflows with a focus on quality and timely results.

Qualifications

3-5 years of Histology experience preferred, with acceptable speed and quality of embedding and cutting.
Strong Communication Skills Required.
Education/License/Certification: College Degree in Science preferred; Successful completion of histology internship and ASCP registration preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepares tissue specimens for microscopic examination according to guidelines.
Performs routine and special stains.
Cleans and maintains Histology Department and equipment.
Oversees Quality Control, testing protocols, instrumentation, and preventative maintenance per accreditation standards.
Oversees inventory management to ensure adequate supplies.
Ensures Policies and Procedures are updated and reviewed per accreditation standards.
