Job summary

The State of Nevada, through the Nevada Department of Transportation, is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker IV in Winnemucca, NV. The role supervises a 7/8 person crew performing road maintenance, winter operations, betterments, and emergency incident response.

The incumbent plans and schedules routine activities and assists with snow removal during seasonal tasks. NDOT staff operate a wide range of highway maintenance machinery, maintain road drainage and safety, and ensure quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience as Highway Maintenance Worker III in Nevada State service or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform preventive maintenance and minor repair on a variety of highway maintenance equipment (rotary snowplow, motor grader, backhoe, asphalt distributor, chip spreader, etc.).
• Act as designated certified operator for certification of Highway Maintenance Worker I/II; train others and enforce safety policies.
