The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker 4 for Lund, Nevada. This lead role operates and maintains a variety of highway maintenance equipment, trains lower-level staff, and assists the Highway Maintenance Supervisor I. The position covers signage, pavement markings, winter de-icing, and general road upkeep across the Ely Sub District.

On-site role with no remote option. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Competenze

High school graduation or equivalent is required.
1 year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Worker III in Nevada State service or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Mansioni

Operate and maintain a range of highway maintenance equipment (rotary snowplow, motor grader, backhoe, chip spreader, sign painter, etc.).
Act as designated certified operator and train lower-level staff.
Install and maintain pavement markings and signage, including long line striping and signs.
Oversee safety policies and oversee other personnel’s work as a lead worker.
Assist Highway Maintenance Supervisor I and evaluate performance as needed.
Respond to emergencies and coordinate traffic control in maintenance zones.
Schedule activities, assign personnel, and manage records as part of lead duties.
