Job summary
Stantec in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to lead design for highways, streets, and interchanges from concept through final design and construction. The role emphasizes hands-on technical work, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams.
You will apply advanced transportation engineering knowledge, stay current with evolving methods, and support budgeting and scheduling while ensuring design quality and compliance with PennDOT
Qualifications
- Registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania required.
- Minimum of 10 years of highway design and plan preparation experience for PaDOT.
- Experience in highway design for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead and prepare complex engineering designs for urban/rural roadways, highways, and intersections.
- Apply advanced transportation engineering principles and stay current on evolving methods.
- Assist with client production and attend client/contractor/stakeholder meetings.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Design, plan production and quality reviews; supervise engineers and CAD staff.
