Job summary

RS&H is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Tallahassee team. The role supports a hybrid in-office/remote schedule and involves leading projects, preparing specifications, analyses, and reports, and guiding junior staff across transportation initiatives.

The successful candidate will have an ABET-accredited engineering degree, a PE license, 10+ years of relevant experience, and strong client-facing communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders and regulators.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree with 10 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) in good standing.
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.
• Proficient in production software and construction document production.
• Experience leading projects and guiding junior staff, and reviewing others' work for technical accuracy.
• Strong oral and written communication to interact with clients, contractors, team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams to ensure project and contractual compliance.
• Prepare project specifications, documents, analyses, reports, and design layouts.
• Perform analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, and cost analyses.
• Conduct field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff and assign tasks for project duration.
