CHA Consulting, Inc. seeks a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Highway & Rail Team across multiple MA/RI offices. You will provide technical leadership for complex highway and rail projects, mentor engineers, and deliver high-quality transportation solutions.

The role focuses on design execution, client interaction, and cross-discipline collaboration. A PE license, 10+ years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation are required.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required.
• Highway/roadway design experience is required; hydraulic design experience preferred.
• MassDOT design experience required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Expert knowledge of the engineering discipline with ability to apply best practices.
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
• Strong QA/QC knowledge, business practices, and engineering laws.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Membership in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred.

In this key role, you’ll provide technical leadership across significant transportation projects, guide and mentor developing engineers, and help deliver thoughtful, high-quality solutions that improve the safety, performance, and longevity of our transportation infrastructure.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, technical reports, and specifications for highway and rail projects


• Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues across multidiscipline transportation projects


• Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions


• Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints


• Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support


• Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required


• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required


• Highway/roadway design experience required; hydraulic design experience preferred


• MassDOT design experience required


• Professional Engineer (PE) license required


• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices

Salary Range:

$115,000 - $140,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
