Job summary

VHB’s Highway/Roadway Group in Watertown, MA seeks a Senior Project Engineer Highway Roadway Design to lead complex highway projects from inception to construction. This role requires strong leadership, client communication, and driving project success.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years in transportation engineering, a BS in Civil Engineering (MS preferred), and a PE; travel to client meetings and sites is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering; MS preferred.
• 5+ years' minimum experience in professional transportation engineering.
• PE expected; DOT or regional DOT-funded roadway projects experience.
• Must have valid driver's license and travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Produces and delivers complex highway design projects from inception through construction administration.
• Assists with proposals, contracts, scope and fee development; tracks progress for schedule and budget.
• Design of highways with geometric layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and environmental permitting.
• Mentors junior team members and reviews their work for accuracy.
• Participates in professional and personal development.
