Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Task Leader to support and lead the technical delivery of highway design projects across New England. Hybrid work is available, with bases in Boston, MA; East Hartford, CT; or Manchester, NH, and a hands-on yet growth-oriented leadership path.

You will mentor engineers, drive designs from concept to PS&E, and collaborate with Project Managers on complex DOT programs. A PE license and 10 years of experience are preferred for this senior role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineer (PE) license is required.
• 10 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of highway design tasks from concept through PS&E.
• Develop and review roadway alignments, design criteria, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Provide day-to-day technical oversight to ensure quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
• Mentor and review work performed by junior engineers; provide technical guidance and support.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Technical Leaders on complex DOT projects.
• Review designs for compliance with federal, state and local standards; sign and seal documents as required.
• Perform site reviews and field studies to support constructible, real-world design solutions.
• Support proposal and task order efforts, including scope development and technical review.
