Job summary

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. seeks a seasoned Superintendent to lead roadway projects in Denver. You will enforce safety, interpret plans, and manage schedules with heavy equipment crews.

Responsibilities include coordinating inspections, producing daily reports, and guiding subcontractors to meet DOT standards. A minimum of 10 years in roadway construction and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of roadway superintendent or foreperson experience leading heavy equipment crews (grader, trackhoe, backhoe, loader, crane).
• Minimum 10 years of roadway/highway construction experience.
• Minimum 10 years of roadway earthwork and road widening projects.
• Minimum 10 years of DOT roadway project experience.
• Education – four or more years related experience and/or training; or a bachelor degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety policies and practices on site.
• Read and enforce plans, specs, and codes.
• Schedule inspections and quality testing; document compliance.
• Complete daily reports including safety and cost worksheets.
• Generate two-week schedules from global project schedules.
• Direct crews and subs to coordinate phases and prevent delays.
• Track equipment use and rental deliveries.
• Conduct regular performance reviews with staff.
