Job summary

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. in Spur, TX seeks a seasoned Superintendent with roadway earthwork and urban reconstruction experience to manage large-scale projects (e.g., $70M).

The role emphasizes grading, sub grading, long roadway prep, excavation and coordinating crews and subcontractors to meet schedules. You will read plans, enforce safety, document inspections, and drive daily reporting while leading diverse teams on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in roadway superintendent or foreperson roles leading heavy equipment crews.
• Extensive experience across all phases of roadway/highway construction.
• Proven track record on roadway/earthwork projects and DOT roadway work.
• Education or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, interpret, and enforce safety policies and practices.
• Read and understand plans, specs, and local building codes.
• Schedule and document inspections, testing, and compliance.
• Prepare daily reports and weekly unit cost worksheets.
• Coordinate with personnel and subcontractors to prevent delays.
• Track equipment rentals and vehicle deliveries.
• Conduct performance reviews for supervised employees.
