Job summary

Henderson Group is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for a major multiyear I-95 widening project in the Savannah, GA area. You will lead the engineering side of interstate widening with major bridge work and new interchanges, coordinating with the owner, DOT inspectors, and design engineers.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in heavy civil highway or DOT projects, a Civil Engineering-related degree, and familiarity with Primavera P6 and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project engineering experience on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Mentor the project and field engineers on the team and coordinate with owner/DOT inspectors on change orders

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope from start to closeout
• Build and maintain quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay applications
• Track cost against budget and prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts
• Build and update the project schedule in Primavera P6 with the field team
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries
• Work with the owner, DOT inspectors and design engineers on change orders and field issues
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements
• Mentor the project and field engineers on the team
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent, with real time in the field on bridge and roadway work
