Job summary

Vistra Corp. is seeking a High Voltage Transformer and Breaker Engineer to provide SME support for HV equipment across the generation fleet, including GSU, Unit Auxiliary, Station Service and reserves.

The role focuses on engineering analysis, test procedure design, and coordinating with site staff to ensure reliability and safety. The engineer will mentor less experienced engineers, participate in industry groups, and support short- and long-range budgeting and procurement activities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in high voltage transformers or breakers design, testing or maintenance.
• Ability to assess condition based on chemical and electrical test results.
• Strong communication and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME for GSU, Unit Auxiliary, Station Service, Reserve and HV transformers.
• Oversee generator circuit breakers and HV breakers testing and reliability.
• Develop test procedures and ensure compliance with Vistra standards.
• Review test data, drawings and factory reports for asset health.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with site staff for solutions.
• Represent Engineering Services on committees and support budget planning.
