Job summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry, LLC is seeking a Construction Superintendent for high‑voltage electrical work on large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, BESS, and wind. You will oversee HV installation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while coordinating with EPCs, utilities, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical construction with HV systems.
• Experience with renewable energy projects (solar, BESS, wind).
• Knowledge of HV infrastructure including substations, collection systems, switchgear, transformers, interconnection equipment.
• Ability to coordinate electrical contractors and manage field operations on large projects.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HV electrical construction activities for utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar, BESS, wind).
• Lead onsite coordination with EPC contractors, electrical subcontractors, utilities, inspectors, and internal teams.
• Ensure installation and commissioning of substations, collection systems, transformers, switchgear, and interconnection infrastructure meet designs and codes.
• Conduct site walks and inspections to monitor progress and address field issues.
• Coordinate electrical work with civil, mechanical, and general construction scopes for seamless execution.
• Review work plans, construction methods, schedules, and safety procedures for HV scopes.
• Support pre-construction planning including logistics and sequencing.
• Ensure QA/QC through inspections and regulatory standards.
• Participate in inspections, testing, punch walks, and project closeout.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and support corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor performance and assist with RFIs and change orders.
• Serve as on-site representative coordinating with utilities, AHJs, EPC partners.
