Job summary

City of Cleveland is seeking a Senior Cable Splicer to perform splice work and maintenance on high-voltage cables and terminations. You will splice up to 15,000 volts and support 69kV/138kV systems, ensuring reliable delivery and safety.

The role requires completing a Cable Splicer Apprenticeship, Ohio CDL, and the ability to work overtime and lift 75 pounds. You will work within the electric utility with strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completed Cable Splicer Apprenticeship program.
• Valid State of Ohio Class "A" Commercial Driver's License.
• Ability to work overtime during emergencies and for call outs.
• Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Reliably splices high and low tension cables up to 15,000 volts.
• Maintains 69kV and 138kV terminations.
• Installs and wires current, potential, and power control cables for ATO switches.
• Interprets underground manhole and conduit maps and locates cables.
• Exhibits safe workplace practices observing APPA, NESC, and NEC safety codes.
