Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions is seeking a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer in Santa Clara, CA to validate high-speed RF coaxial and twinaxial assemblies for 224G/448G PAM4 data rates.

Responsibilities include hands-on measurements with VNA/TDR/BERT, plus EM simulations and root-cause analysis. Collaboration with mechanical and manufacturing teams will optimize terminations and material choices for electrical performance.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on measurement with VNA, TDR/TDT, and BERT.
• Experience with high-speed interconnect design and SI challenges.

Responsibilities

• Perform S-parameter measurements on coax and twinax assemblies to characterize loss, return loss, and impedance discontinuities.
• Conduct BERT-based BER testing and eye-diagram analysis to validate SI margins.
• Support 3D EM simulations (HFSS, CST) to correlate simulated vs. measured performance.
• Drive root-cause analysis on SI failures and recommend design or process changes.
• Collaborate with mechanical and manufacturing teams on cable construction and terminations.
• Support qualification test plans and re-qualification workflows for high-speed links.
• Develop test fixtures and data analysis pipelines (Python/MATLAB) for high-throughput characterization.
• Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and customers.
