Job summary

Tensor in San Jose is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and develop high-speed digital circuits for automotive applications, including processors, memory, and high-bandwidth interfaces. You will lead schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, and design reviews.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering and extensive experience with PCIe, USB, Ethernet, and SerDes, plus hands-on hardware validation using oscilloscopes, VNAs, and TDRs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in high-speed digital design (clocking, DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, SerDes).
• Proficiency with SI/PI simulation tools such as HyperLynx, HFSS or CST.
• Familiarity with PCB stack-up design, impedance control, and via modelling.
• Strong understanding of PDN optimization for high-speed systems.
• Hands-on experience with hardware validation using oscilloscopes, VNAs, and TDRs.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of high-speed digital circuits for automotive apps including processors, memory, and interfaces.
• Perform schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, and design reviews for high-speed systems.
• Validate designs through simulations and lab testing with appropriate equipment.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards for SI, PI, and EMI/EMC performance.
• Lead debugging efforts for high-speed digital systems in lab and field environments.
• Stay updated on emerging high-speed digital technologies and propose innovative approaches.
