Job summary

AMD is seeking an experienced Board Design & Field Systems Engineer in San Jose, CA. This role involves leading board design and development for high-performance platforms, supporting system integration, and resolving field issues. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of complex debugging and hands-on experience in board bring-up.

Preferred qualifications include expertise in high-speed interfaces and proficiency in EDA tools like Cadence Allegro. This position does not offer visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in high-speed board/system design.
• Expertise in DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, Ethernet, high-speed interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with board bring-up and debugging complex hardware issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead board design and development for FPGA/ASIC platforms.
• Collaborate on PCB layout and ensure manufacturable solutions.
• Own hardware bring-up, system stabilization, and complex debugging.
• Support DVT execution and perform root-cause analysis.
• Provide cross-stack troubleshooting across hardware, firmware, and software.
