Job summary

The candidate will perform analyses for steel, concrete, and composite systems, review shop drawings, support permitting, and contribute to BIM coordination and value engineering on complex urban projects.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Strong high-rise building design and construction background.
• Proficient with ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, or similar software.
• Knowledge of NYC Building Code and U.S. structural design standards.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary BIM environments.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design development for high-rise residential and mixed-use projects.
• Perform structural analysis and design calculations for steel, concrete, and composite systems.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and consultants throughout project phases.
• Review and respond to shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and construction-related questions.
• Ensure designs comply with NYC Building Code, IBC, and industry standards.
• Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection with project teams.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address field conditions.
• Support value engineering to improve cost and constructability.
• Assist with foundation design coordination and geotechnical integration.
• Provide technical support during permitting, design approvals, and construction administration.
