Job summary

Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant for its Specialty Industrial Property team. This 100% property‑focused role requires deep property risk engineering expertise and experience with complex manufacturing operations and fire protection systems.

You will conduct on‑site property risk assessments, identify loss drivers, and deliver practical risk improvement recommendations. The position is fully remote and based in Illinois with travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Must have property experience, inclusive of high hazard property exposure.
• Strong understanding of NFPA Codes and Standards or equivalent (Factory Mutual Guidelines).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey technical decisions with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct property risk engineering field inspections for existing and prospective policyholders, including consulting with customers on exposures and deficiencies.
• Generate technical property risk engineering reports identifying exposures and recommending controls.
• Collaborate with Risk Analysts to resolve identified deficiencies.
• Mentor junior Risk Engineering Consultants and guide report generation on complex accounts.
• Coordinate with internal/external resources on risks of varying complexity.
