Job summary

Virta Health is seeking a Senior HEOR Scientist to lead real-world evidence programs and health economics analyses that demonstrate the clinical and economic value of Virta's metabolic care solutions.

You will partner with data science, sales, marketing, and product teams to translate complex claims and clinical data into publication-grade evidence, influence market adoption, and shape product strategy while maintaining rigorous privacy and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent (PhD preferred) in Health Economics, Public Health, Pharmacoeconomics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience analyzing claims/clinical datasets, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting economic outcomes.
• 3+ years of business experience in a startup or high-growth environment, translating scientific evidence for commercial applications.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or SAS for conducting advanced claims analysis and data modeling.
• Designed and implemented repeatable AI-enabled workflows that address bottlenecks and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead RWE programs and health economics models to demonstrate clinical and economic value.
• Translate real-world data from plans, employers, and external data warehouses into actionable insights that drive growth, adoption, and product innovation.
• Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences, client presentations, and internal meetings.
• Partner cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and product teams to integrate real-world evidence into commercial messaging, clinical care, and product development.
• Serve as an internal subject matter expert, teaching HEOR methodologies and advancing organizational research capabilities.
