Brown University Health is seeking a Senior Medical Technologist for the Pathology Lab at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. The role involves overseeing testing operations in a specific laboratory section and handling complex, specialized procedures.

The candidate will mentor staff, participate in research and implement new procedures while maintaining high standards of accuracy and patient care. A BS in MLS/MT and ASCP certification (or eligible) are required.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or closely related field.
• National certification (or eligible) in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology by ASCP or equivalent.
• Advanced or Master’s Degree work in the area of specialization is desired but can be obtained through equivalent work experience.
• Ability to operate equipment and instruments and perform all procedures within assigned laboratory section.

• Prepares and determines suitability of solutions, reagents and stains following standard laboratory procedures.
• Performs routine, specialized and/or innovative tests and analyses.
• Serves as a technical resource and provides guidance to staff in resolving problems.
