Job summary

Jobot seeks an experienced Project Manager for civil construction in New Jersey. The role focuses on leading heavy highway projects, estimating costs, and steering projects from start to finish while safeguarding the bottom line.

The ideal candidate will have a background in heavy highway construction, a Civil Engineering or related degree, and strong leadership and communication skills essential for coordinating multiple managers and crews on complex infrastructures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in project management and estimation in civil construction.
• Proven experience in heavy highway construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient with project management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning and execution of heavy highway construction projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Develop comprehensive project plans aligning customer requirements with company goals across all phases.
• Conduct detailed cost estimations and budgeting for labor, materials and expenses.
• Monitor progress and provide detailed reports on milestones and deliverables.
• Communicate proactively to identify problems and implement efficiency improvements.
• Review proposed changes to contracts with legal teams.
• Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for favorable terms.
