Job summary

OIA Global in Houston is seeking a seasoned Heavy Haul Manager to lead North American growth of the Heavy Haul product. You will build carrier partnerships, design heavy haul solutions, and guide cross-functional teams across project cargo initiatives.

You will oversee safe, compliant execution of complex moves, manage budgets and KPIs, and develop the team of ground project logistics specialists across multiple locations, delivering outstanding customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy haul, over‑dimensional, overweight, and project cargo.
• Extensive USA domestic with cross-border knowledge to Mexico/Canada a bonus.
• Knowledge of route surveys, permitting, regulatory compliance, risk management.
• Experience evaluating engineered transport plans and load securement designs.
• Experience managing heavy haul carriers and third‑party providers with focus on safety and compliance.
• Commercial acumen to structure and evaluate project RFQs, balancing technical feasibility and cost.
• Strong project management, planning, milestones, and stakeholder coordination.
• Ability to operate in high‑risk, time‑sensitive project environments.
• Leadership including coaching and developing teams.
• Strong analytics, budgets, KPIs, and performance reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of TMS/WMS; experience with project cargo systems (3G TMS) preferred.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Grow GP in North America through heavy haul solutions.
• Lead heavy haul and project cargo movements.
• Provide governance to ensure safe, compliant execution.
• Evaluate transport plans, equipment configurations, and route feasibility.
• Lead RFQs and tenders from scope through award.
• Develop carrier relationships and ensure safety KPIs.
• Coordinate with customers, engineers, and regulators.
• Review dispatch plans and equipment deployment.
• Monitor permit compliance and milestones.
• Manage project costs and budgeting.
