Job summary

Gillett Excavating is seeking an experienced Operator to drive earthwork and underground projects, operating GPS-equipped excavators, dozers, and loaders on pipe and dirt work for subdivisions and large commercial sites. You will plan ahead, sequence tasks, and maintain safety and site organization while collaborating with a high-performing crew.

Expect long days, overtime opportunities, and a focus on accurate grades and quality work.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavator, dozer, or loader with emphasis on safety and quality.
• Ability to read grade stakes and measure in tenths for accurate grades.
• Willingness to learn and improve daily.
• Strong sense of accountability and safety.
• Experience reading blueprints and GPS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate late-model GPS-equipped excavators, dozers, loaders for pipe and dirt work.
• Plan ahead, sequence work to minimize idle time.
• Maintain safety and keep sites clean and organized.
• Collaborate with team to ensure coordination and reduce rework.
• Work with a high-performing crew and learn from challenges.
• Put in real hours with overtime as needed.
