Job summary

KBR is seeking a Sr. Engineer Equipment Mechanic for the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program in Jacksonville, FL. The role involves maintenance and repair of diesel engines and material-handling equipment, including cranes, container handlers, and forklifts, with emphasis on MVAC systems and safety compliance.

The candidate will mentor junior mechanics, perform major rebuilds, and provide technical guidance while adhering to stringent timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Complete Basic Engineer Program Mechanics Course or equivalent.
• Complete MVAC course and hold a valid certificate.
• Must have a valid state driver license and be able to obtain CAC/Base Access.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair MVAC systems.
• Perform maintenance and rebuilds on heavy equipment including cranes, forklifts, tractors, and power shovels.
• Assist and train lower level mechanics and support higher level technicians.
• Follow safety standards and time schedules; comply with manuals and specifications.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
