Job summary

Blount Construction Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, hydraulic systems and heavy equipment both in the shop and at field locations.

The role requires performing welding and fabrication, following manufacturer guidelines, and conducting inspections to meet safety standards. A clean driving record and 5+ years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel engine repair and heavy equipment operation.
• Knowledge of air brake systems and suspension components.
• Ability to work on industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, farm machinery, and dealership vehicles.
• Proficiency in assembling and disassembling mechanical components.
• Clean MVR and 5+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
• Diagnose and repair equipment in shop or field locations.
• Perform service, maintenance, repair, and overhaul per manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Analyze and diagnose diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Weld, braze, fabricate parts and structures, and modify equipment as needed.
• Record inspections to ensure vehicles meet DOT safety standards.
