Job summary

Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy diesel and gasoline vehicles and equipment in the South Area/Melbourne Central Fleet Shop. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m.; open until filled; salary $27.65 to $29.03 hourly, negotiable based on experience. Requirements include eight years of experience in heavy equipment mechanics with diesel engine expertise, or county-specific experience

Qualifications

Eight (8) years of experience in heavy equipment mechanics, including three (3) years of diesel engine mechanics OR two (2) years of experience with Brevard County as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic II OR four (4) years of experience with Brevard County as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic I.
Substitution: post-secondary heavy equipment coursework may substitute for up to one year.
Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted year-for-year.

Responsibilities

Performs highly skilled crafts and trades work in the maintenance and complex repair of heavy diesel and/or gasoline vehicles and equipment.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
