Job summary

Lewis & Tibbitts, Inc. seeks an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead self-perform underground utilities, grading, asphalt paving, site concrete, and structural concrete operations from mobilization through closeout.

The ideal candidate will plan work, build realistic production schedules, coordinate crews and equipment, and drive projects safely and profitably while coordinating with PMs, estimators, foremen, owners, and inspectors in the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience with leadership as Superintendent or General Foreman.
• Experience delivering underground utilities, grading, paving, site and structural concrete.
• Strong knowledge of trench safety, shoring, compaction, and public right-of-way work.
• Ability to read plans, specs, geotechnical data and survey information.
• Proven ability to manage field production, labor, equipment costs, safety and schedule."

Responsibilities

• Review plans, geotechnical info, contract scope, and schedule before mobilization.
• Develop field execution and crew/equipment plans with look-ahead schedules.
• Lead daily field operations for underground utilities, grading, paving, and concrete work.
• Coordinate RFIs, scope changes, and potential change orders with PM/Estimating.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and monitor production vs. estimate.
