Job summary

Veit in Rogers, MN seeks a Project Manager/Estimator to own heavy civil, DOT and public works projects from bid through completion. You will combine estimating and project management, develop competitive bids, and plan awarded work while coordinating with field operations and office staff to meet schedule and budget goals.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands heavy civil construction and wants to be involved in both winning the work and seeing it built successfully.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 5+ years in heavy civil estimating or PM.
• Proficient in construction bidding, cost tracking, and scheduling.
• Strong communication and client-relations skills.
• Experience with Viewpoint Vista or HCSS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Seeks bid opportunities through client relationships and postings.
• Develops client relationships and pursues new opportunities.
• Estimates projects for bid submittal by reviewing plans and specs.
• Coordinates pre-construction meetings and staffing needs.
• Obtains permits and licenses as required.
• Manages costs, billing, and cash flow with project team.
• Ensures safety, budget discipline, and on-time completion.
• Manages project changes and scope to protect profitability.
