Curtis Contracting, Inc. is seeking a results-oriented Project Leader to own end-to-end delivery of heavy highway and civil projects.

You will review schedules, verify safety and quality controls on site, negotiate changes, realign resources, and issue progress updates with financial forecasts. The role requires 10+ years in progressive construction with a general contractor, strong leadership, and expert use of Primavera P6 and MS Project.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive construction experience with a general contractor on large-scale heavy highway and civil projects.
• Experience from preconstruction through final closeout.
• Strong negotiations background and relationship-building with owners, subs, and suppliers.
• 5+ years supervising teams with proven leadership and accountability.
• Proficiency with project controls and financial reporting; expert in scheduling platforms (Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Deep knowledge of civil methods: grading, drainage, structures, and paving; roadway and structures experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with VDOT standards, environmental compliance, and permitting.

• Manage full project lifecycle from planning to turnover.
• Create and maintain integrated schedules (CPM) with Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Direct multi-disciplinary teams of field leadership, project engineers, and subcontractors.
• Identify and mitigate risks to protect cost and schedule.
• Lead safety, quality, and environmental compliance programs in field and office.
• Administer contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Oversee project financials: budgets, cost control, and forecasting for profitability.
• Ensure permitting, insurance verification, and documentation requirements are met.
• Strategically procure materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Mentor and coach team members; conduct performance reviews.
• Serve as primary liaison with owners, designers, vendors, and agencies.
