Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Civil Project Manager for highway, road, and bridge work in Virginia. You will own projects from planning through closeout, lead field teams, coordinate with owners and agencies, and protect schedule, budget, and quality.

This direct-hire role offers $140,000–$180,000 base with bonus, full benefits, and relocation support for the right candidate. A strong background in DOT/VDOT projects and self-perform capabilities is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years managing heavy/highway, road, or bridge civil construction projects.
• Strong DOT/VDOT, roadway, grading or utility background.
• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or related field; OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage heavy highway, road, bridge, and civil projects from plan through closeout.
• Own schedule, budget, cost control, forecasting, change orders and closeout.
• Lead field supervision and project engineering teams; define roles.
• Identify risks early and drive solutions to keep on time and on budget.
• Manage contractors, owners, agencies, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with contract requirements.
