Job summary

Trueline in Carson City, NV, seeks a Senior Heavy Civil Estimator to own the estimating function for heavy civil and public works opportunities. You will review plans, perform takeoffs, develop complete estimates, and prepare competitive bids for municipal and government projects.

The role involves traveling up to 20% for pre-bid meetings and site visits, collaborating with ownership and project managers, and continuously improving estimating processes in a growing firm.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil estimating experience.
• Experience estimating public works or civil infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on sewer, water, underground utility, or similar civil estimating experience.
• Ability to independently build a complete heavy civil estimate from plans through final bid.
• Strong quantity takeoff skills and understanding of labor, equipment, materials, and sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Own the estimating process for heavy civil and public works opportunities from bid review through final submission.
• Review civil plans, specifications, addenda, contract requirements, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for underground utilities, sewer, roadway, and structural concrete.
• Develop complete estimates with labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and production rates.
• Prepare competitive bids for municipal, government, and public infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with ownership and Project Managers on bid strategy and pricing.
• Maintain estimating data and historical cost information for future bids.
