Railroad Construction Company, Inc. in the NJ/NY Metro area is seeking a motivated estimating professional with a strong civil background to join our Estimating Department.

You will analyze project documents, prepare bid proposals, and price materials, subs, and crews with accuracy. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, 10+ years in Estimating/PM, and proven ability to deliver winning bids on large civil projects up to $50M (with $100M+ cases

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
10+ years of Estimating/Project Management experience.
Proven ability to deliver accurate bids for civil projects up to $50M; $100M+ experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze project documents for risk, schedule, and profitability.
Review plans/specs and prepare complete, accurate bid proposals.
Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for materials, subcontractors, and crews.
Compare current bids to historical data and manage post-bid documentation.
Build and manage project budgets and documentation.
Communicate with owners, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Visit project sites to evaluate methods and progress.
