Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience within heavy civil, highway, site development, or infrastructure construction.
• Strong experience estimating excavation, grading, utilities, drainage, paving, or roadway projects.
• Ability to independently manage complex estimates from bid review through submission.
• Thorough understanding of construction means, methods, and production rates.
• Experience using estimating software and digital takeoff platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and competitive bid submissions for heavy civil and infrastructure projects.
• Review plans, specifications, addenda, and contract documents to assess project requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and trucking costs.
• Evaluate project risks, constructability challenges, and pricing opportunities.
• Participate in project pursuit decisions and bid strategy discussions with company leadership.
• Solicit, analyze, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Prepare bid packages, clarifications, alternates, and proposal documentation.
• Support project turnover, budgeting, and cost code development following award.
• Assist with change order pricing and project financial reviews as needed.
• Recommend process improvements and help strengthen estimating best practices across the organization.
• Serve as a collaborative resource for operations, project management, and executive leadership.
