Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Estimator for our Heavy Civil Construction division in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will prepare detailed cost estimates for underground utilities, site work, drainage and roadway construction, with a strong emphasis on self-perform work.

The role requires 5+ years of estimating experience, proficiency in HCSS and Microsoft Project, and solid knowledge of value engineering and contract management. Excellent negotiation and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating heavy civil construction projects, with self-perform focus.
• Degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred.
• Proficient in HCSS and Microsoft Project for planning and estimation.
• Experience estimating underground utilities, site work, drainage and roadway construction.
• Strong knowledge of contract management principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil projects including underground utilities, site work, drainage and roadways.
• Utilize HCSS and MS Project to manage bids and schedules.
• Apply value engineering to optimize project costs and performance.
• Read blueprints and technical documents to ensure accurate estimates.
• Negotiate favorable terms and prices with vendors and subcontractors.
• Demonstrate precise calculations and strong analytical skills.
