Job summary

Top Gun Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead mid- to large-scale heavy highway and DOT estimates from takeoff through final bid.

You will review plans, quantities, and schedules, developing labor, equipment, materials, and pricing to produce competitive bids. The role requires 7+ years of heavy civil estimating experience, strong knowledge of means and methods, and the ability to manage multiple bids to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 7+ years of heavy highway or heavy civil estimating experience.
• Proven ability to independently lead estimates from takeoff through final bid.

Responsibilities

• Lead mid- to large-scale highway and DOT estimates from takeoff through final bid submission.
• Review plans, specifications, quantities, addenda, schedules, and project requirements.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and production-based pricing.
• Estimate roadway, earthwork, grading, drainage, utilities, concrete, bridges, retaining walls, and related civil scopes.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing and identify scope gaps.
• Develop bid strategy, schedules, risk assessments, and final pricing with estimating and operations leadership.
• Participate in bid reviews and support project turnover after award.
• Use historical cost and production data to improve estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
• Mentor junior estimators and estimating support staff as needed.
