Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist to administer and oversee Environmental Health and Safety programs across the network. The role includes developing policies, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating safety training for team members.

You will travel to hospitals and care facilities in New Jersey, participate in committees, and ensure compliance with OSHA, TJC, EPA, NJDEP, and other regulations while supporting construction and life safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 3 years of safety experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Understanding of Environment of Care and Life safety standards (TJC).
• Ability to prepare clear reports and supervise others.
• Strong communication and team coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development and maintenance of EH&S programs, policies, and procedures.
• Travel to and support multiple facilities for EH&S matters.
• Serve on network and local committees related to EH&S.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
• Provide EH&S training programs.
• Monitor regulatory changes from OSHA, TJC, and NJ policies.
• Collaborate with departments to reduce injuries and ensure compliance.
• Assist with construction and fire/life safety activities and audits.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents promptly.
• Perform Job Hazard Analyses and regulatory audits.
